HVC - Henk Vanhoutte Consulting

HVC was established end of 1998 by Henk Vanhoutte and has operated since as a one man company. As a textile engineer, Henk Vanhoutte gained more than 10 years of experience in several companies before starting as a consultant.

HVC is active in advising manufacturers and importers of work wear and protective clothing on technical matters. This includes supporting the development of new garments and styles for specific uses or protection. For several customers HVC is preparing the certification procedures for protective clothing under the PPE directive (89/686).

HVC is also active in supporting industrial laundries that provide services for workwear and protective clothing.

For several customers, HVC has provided training in PPE legislation in general and technical contents of standards for protective clothing more specific.

Since 1999 Henk Vanhoutte is a Belgian expert on several standardization groups on protective clothing (CEN TC 162 WG1 and WG2 - ISO TC 94 SC14). And he is also active in the national (Belgium and the Netherlands) mirror groups on several types of PPE.

Henk Vanhoutte is active both in the national Belgian association of PPE suppliers (Febelsafe) as well as in the European federation of PPE suppliers (European Safety Federation - ESF). On behalf of ESF Henk Vanhoutte is the chair of the CEN PPE sector forum.

The customers of HVC are mainly based in Belgium and the Netherlands, but also in several other (European) countries.
