deliverable 2.1. : Prototype Body sensors
Authors: Anton Kaasjager, Thorsten Szsepanski, Mark Richards and Sjoukje Wiegersma
Rationale
The Prospie system should give a warning to the user and central control office when safety margins are exceeded. This document describes the state of the art of sensors, connectors and wiring systems and gives an overview of selected systems that constitute the Prospie prototype.
Methods
The selection of sensors, connectors and wiring systems is based on state of the art knowledge (see introduction). Three stages are distinguished: a core system that can be easily achieved in Prospie, an extra system and an advanced system. The core system includes temperature, humidy and heart rate sensors.
Results
The results of the analysis is translated into a system architecture and demonstrator. The components are described individualy.
Applicability
The elaborate description of the components of the Prospie systems are essential for the final configuration. The description may also be of use for companies that intend to include sensors in textiles.
Conclusion
We were able to use off-the-shelf components to constitute an integrated warning system.
